School of Law鈥檚 Access to Justice Clinic hosts first Lawyers Against Poverty: Legal Confidence session

On Thursday 26 August, Dr Tehmina Khan and Liz Williams delivered the Access to Justice Clinic鈥檚 first Lawyers Against Poverty: Legal Confidence session entitled, 鈥楥riminal Justice鈥.

The session took place during Big Leaf Foundation鈥檚 鈥業ntroduction to law in the UK: your rights, your responsibilities, your police鈥 workshop. The workshop was set up to work with displaced young people (such as refugees, those seeking asylum, and victims of trafficking) to increase their understanding of crime, legal process, and law enforcement in the UK.

Director of Clinical Legal Education, Liz Williams said: "We are most grateful to Kayte Cable (Big Leaf Co-Founder) and her team for organising such a fantastic workshop. We were delighted to take part in this important event. We were hugely impressed with the outstanding attitude, engagement, enthusiasm, and participation of those who attended. It was a thoroughly interesting, thought-provoking, and enjoyable day. We very much look forward to working with the young people and the Big Leaf team again."
