An essential tool for sustainable planning of water resource and land use
A deep analysis of Lake Poop贸 in Bolivia, which has shrunk over two decades, will provide essential information for planning water resources and land uses.
Overview
Lake Poop贸, located in the Andrean Mountain Range Plateau, has shown a decline in lake water level which has coincided with an intensification of agricultural exploitation. Using Earth Observation (EO) time series datasets in conjunction with land cover and precipitation data, the research shows that most evapotranspiration (ET) losses are associated with cropping practices, and that ET changes occur primarily in the region鈥檚 web period.
